Central Asia

What benefits does the northern route offer?

The northern route can offer a direct land connection to Central Asia, but must be checked legally and operationally on a shipment-specific basis.

Depending on starting point and destination, the northern route can provide a geographically direct connection to Central Asia. Especially for transports to Kazakhstan, it can be operationally interesting if all legal, customs-related and documentary requirements are met.

One possible benefit is the continuous land connection without a ferry passage across the Caspian Sea. In certain cases, this can make the route more plannable than a route with a sea section. At the same time, actual usability strongly depends on the goods, consignee country, transit requirements and current framework conditions.

For the northern route, legal requirements, possible sanctions, transit restrictions, type of goods and consignee country must be considered particularly carefully. The review of these points is the responsibility of the sender, exporter or client. Not every type of goods and not every transport can automatically be handled via this route.
