Which risks arise from damaged packaging during export?

Damaged packaging can lead to damage, delays and issues during customs or damage inspections in international transport.

Damaged or unsuitable packaging can lead to transport damage, problems during transshipment or queries at customs and control points. Especially during long international road transports, strong temperature fluctuations, moisture and repeated handling processes affect the goods.

This becomes particularly critical for machinery, spare parts, electronics or sensitive industrial components. Damaged packaging can also raise doubts about the condition of the goods, load securing or document consistency. In some cases, this also makes damage assessment more difficult.

GLOBALSPED takes factors such as packaging type, loading unit, handling points and transport risk into account for international transports. Which packaging is suitable depends on the goods, route, transit time and type of transport.
